Sympathies for the Family and Friends of Dr. Julio O. Sy Sr

It is with great sadness to announce that one of Lorenzo Shipping’s pillars and founding chairman Dr. Julio O. Sy, Sr. has joined our Creator last August 11, 2020 at the age of 87 years old. He was a loving husband to Anesia Dy, a father of 5 children and a grandfather to more than 10 wonderful grandchildren. His life story of success has served an inspiration not only in his hometown, Dumaguete, but even to the entire nation as he was able to overcome poverty through perseverance to become a well-loved business tycoon and philanthropist. He was Chairman of the Board of Lorenzo Shipping from 1996 to 2006 and was Director of the company from 1996 to 2019. His leadership is marked by virtues of integrity, hard-work, and love and respect for people which is admired by his colleagues and everyone at work. He was truly an instrument for growth of various industries and nation-building through his numerous business and civic involvements and his contributions are all remarkable. With a life well-lived, he will truly be missed but his legacy will continue in the hearts and minds of all the lives that he has touched and the visions and dreams that he has helped prosper. All of us at Lorenzo Shipping Corporation and Magsaysay Shipping and Logistics, the Board of Directors, the Management and Staff mourn the loss of a man who has indelibly touched our lives and who we shall always remember with great affection and respect. May God shower Mrs. Sy, his children and grandchildren with His abundant blessings and love during this time of loss. May God bless Mr. Sy so he rests in the tranquility of God's embrace.
